Selfie Sunday

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
By Jeff Kinney

One of a, soon-to-be, nine book series that took the kids' book world by storm! Written in diary form and in Greg's "handwriting", these books and easy and fun books that kids seem to get through quite easy. The one thing I love about this series is that boys LOVE it and anything that gets those boys to read can't be that bad. Jeff Kinney is a Maryland native who originally started the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books for adults. Kids picked up really quick on the smash hit and before you know it ~ there was a movie!! So if you haven't read Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney yet, then stop by and pick up a copy. You'll be back for the rest of the series real soon afterward! Happy reading!

Selfie Sunday - A Wrinkle In Time

A Wrinkle In Time
By Madeline L'Engle

I read this book to help my son in 6th grade when he had to read it. What a pleasant surprise it was! I REALLY enjoyed it. It was rather science fictiony and time travelly. Almost a geek book which is right up my alley. If you don't know, then I'll tell ya it's about some kids who are trying to find their father who disappeared quite a while ago. They time travel with three older ladies through space and visit distant lands. A Wrinkle In Time was originally written in 1962 and is a must have for any library!

The first book from David Baldacci for teens. The tale is about the village of Wormwood and the fact that no one has left except Quentin Herms who vanished into thin air. Vega Jane knows Quentin hasn't just disappeared so she's following the trail to find him. This book is for ages 10 and up.

Selfie Sunday! - Divergent

The perfect choice for our first Selfie Sunday! "Divergent" by Veronica Roth is a dystopian tale that is all the talk recently since it has just come out in the movies! If you loved "Hunger Games", then you'll love this book too. Based in a world that is divided into characteristics or "factions", at 16 every young person must choose to stay in the faction of their birth or follow another path. The choice is theirs, but it can make every difference in their lives. "Divergent" is the first book in the trilogy followed by "Insurgent" and "Allegiant". We have your copy waiting for you. What faction will you choose?
